I was not blessed with the creative home decorator gene and really admire people who have that natural talent--you know who you are. Like many, I watch television, thumb through magazines and pinterest to get ideas. Sometimes accomplishing what I had envisioned, and other times looking at it in wonder of what went wrong. For me, being in an uncluttered space, mentally or physically, cultivates more creativity; photography taught me that a few years ago. Whether it is in decorating homes, taking pictures, cooking, or other work and hobbies I enjoy, having an uncluttered mind and life produces more creativity.
How can something that sounds so easy, be so hard? As much as we blame our jobs, our family, our lack of time and other personal commitments, clutter for the most part, is self-induced.
Join me in 2016 to unclutter our schedules, our minds, and our homes to find more room for creativity and joy.
Happy 2016 everyone -- I look forward to the new year ahead.
